We will explore simple movement from 3 different Tai Chi styles (Sun, Yang and Chen) in a Tai Chi for Health (Dr. Paul Lam) form called Tai Chi for Rehabilitation. We will also work on the beginning movements of the Yang 24 Form, breaking down each movement into smaller parts to make them easier to learn.

The practice of qigong helps to enhance your tai chi practice as you learn to cultivate energy and let it move through your body as uninhibited as possible. Tai chi, in turn, enhances your qigong practice. In addition to better balance, practicing short tai chi forms on a regular basis can help reduce stress and joint pain, increase mobility, function and immunity and bring about a general sense of well-being. We will practice Dr. Paul Lam's Qigong for Health program and practice through movements from different Tai Chi for Health programs as moving meditation.

You will be surprised how doing Tai Chi seated can challenge your hips and core.  We still do weight shifting and lead the arm movement with the dantians.  Have a chair available with no wheels, no arms and a fairly straight back.

Dr. Paul Lam created this program with his team of medical and Tai Chi experts.  It is an effective program that can prevent or improve most heart conditions, as well as improve balance, immunity and relaxation.
